Explore Westralia Square Public Art Exhibition - Presented by Peter Farmer Designs and Little Rhino Designs, supported by GDI Property Group and Arup

During Perth Design Week Westralia Square exterior will become a design activation bringing Arup’s workplace artwork outside for all to experience. 

 Noongar artists - Peter Farmer Designs, in collaboration with Little Rhino Designs - are creating three art installations, each telling a different story. Miranda Farmer shared these stories with us:  

The first installation will be a celebration of the handcrafted work the Peter Farmer Designs team created for Arup’s workplace inside WS2. It will tell the story of all the stakeholders coming together to workshop the firm’s history in Western Australia and the history of the site throughout the many thousands of years in Noongar memory.   

The second installation will recognise community and how diverse those communities are inside of this building and inside of the city and state of Western Australia. We want to have those stakeholders place symbols of themselves and their philosophies that make them part of a greater collective, which makes up the fabric of a mosaic that represents community using Noongar symbols.  

The third installation is the stairs outside the building. The stairs will have a strong sense or journey using Noongar Biddis or lineworks. This installation will use Noongar language that is about the heart and what makes it beat.  It is also about welcoming everyone to look and listen to the heartbeats of this central site.
