What Defines Western Australian Design? - Presented by Perth Design Week
Wednesday 19 March, 6.00pm – 7.30pm; Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip
The Event
Perth Design Week will celebrate its opening night on Wednesday 19 March 2025 at Hackett Hall at the Western Australian Museum Boola Bardip.
Join us for a runway show presenting recent work by Peter Farmer Designs, followed by a panel conversation with some of the people leading the design conversation in Western Australia as we ask: “what makes design from this place uniquely Western Australian?”
Is it a response to our unique place? Is it fuelled by our isolation and pioneering spirit? What is it that makes our buildings, spaces, products and fashion distinctively Western Australian?
Journalist and design champion Claire Tyrell will moderate the panel conversation with broad ranging perspectives across the design community:
Adrian Fini – Director, Human Urban
Ara Salamone – Director, State of Kin
Jody D’Arcy – Editor, Havenist
Mark Braddock – Co-Founder, Block
Miranda and Peter Farmer – Artist, Peter Famer Designs
Peter Lee – Principal, Hassell
