How do we create streets in Perth and Australia where children play and people flourish?
The places in Australia that are known and adored for their traditional urbanism – for example, Fremantle, Surry Hills and Fitzroy – command a price premium and are in high demand. In Perth, Subiaco and East Perth are popular examples of 1990s ‘new urbanism’. These places are scarce, however, and we are not building more of them, despite their popularity and growing demands for ‘15-minute cities’.
Join Milly Main and Craig Nener from Street Level’s Perth chapter, along with Sean Morrison from the APP Group, for a talk followed by Q&A and audience discussion as they explore the best international examples of new traditional neighbourhoods globally, and how can we create more of them in Australia.
