The balconies were removed in 1953 under orders from the state government but have now been gloriously reinstated.
While the restoration looks stunning from street level, giving the CBD a gorgeous new arcade along the lengths of the Hay and King Streets, the wow factor is the size of the verandas and the views they afford of the city.
