Creating better connection to communities through design.

As part of Perth’s inaugural Design Week, Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) and Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) are showcasing three projects by some of Perth’s leading design thinkers, delving into the key learnings, community collaborations and connection to place.

A shield of shared history

Kevin Wilson (Nani) and Gabi Fountain (Block) discuss the collaboration process that led to the creation of a significant new symbol to represent the City of Perth.

Designing good corporate citizenship

Barry Walker, Melissa Radman and Emma Hollins (Wunderman Thompson) share a project for Horizon Power: leveraging the essence of people and place to design a brand intrinsically linked to community and the impact of the evolution of WA’s energy system.

Co-design for complex needs

Pascal Bompard (Anthologie) and Jethro Sercombe (Innovation Unit) will share a project regarding people experiencing Homelessness, where they’ve undertaken a depth of participatory design with people with lived experience.
